Until recently, when you replaced brushes, you would dispose of the entire handle and a brush head creating an average of 6 g of plastic waste. Using the Brushette system throwing away each unit creates the equivalent of 1g of plastic waste. That's already 6 times less material.
But, because zero waste is better than less waste, we have set up the Recyclette® program for our subscribers. Thus we provide each of our members a pre-addressed envelope to return their used brushettes regularly by mail. We remove the bristles from the brushette and turn them into thermal insulation. Then the Plastic bases are sterilized and re-purposed.
In frames of the Recyclette® program we cooperate with BrushCycle, a non-profit company, which aims to recycle all the toothbrushes around the world. So, when you get an enveloppe with your first Brushette® package, you should fill them with used brushettes and send the enveloppe directly to BrushCycle. Depending on weight of your package, Brushette will credit your account with points, which can be used to get free brushettes.
